Faith that Knows (Easter Sunday)

Hebrews 11:1-3
 
I. What is faith?
     a. Webster's- unquestioning belief that does not require proof.
     b. Being sure of what we hope for.
     c. Certain of what we do not see.
     d. Only as good as what it is placed in.
 
II.  Why is faith important?
     a. We are saved by faith.
     b. We live by faith.
     c. We receive righteousness by faith.
     d. We are justified by faith.
 
III. How does faith affect our lives?
     a. It's how we trust in who Jesus was.
     b. It's how we trust in what Jesus did.
     c. It's how we trust in the resurrection
     d. It's how we live for Jesus Christ.

    I.  Pray for the sick
         A. Aggressively because nothing is impossible with God.
         B. Fervently because fervent prayers of the righteous are powerful.
         C. Submissively because God understands the total situation.
     
    II.  Praying for the prodigal
         A. The focus must be on God alone.
         B. The heart of the problem is the problem of the heart.
         C. Don't give up. Keep praying. Keep believing. You never know what God will do.
     
    III.  Praying for the lost
         A. Pray for boldness to speak to the lost.
         B. Pray the lost might listen.
         C. Pray for a life transformed by the gospel. (The Good News)

         2. Seeking: A desire for something of great value
         3. Knocking: To stand at a door repeatedly tapping on it
     
    III.  Mountain Moving Prayer
         1. Have faith in God
         2. Face the mountain of impossibility
         3. Believe and see God in action
